Home sweet home...Man...
I'm back from COALS camp and just woke up from a 4 and a half hours nappy~ And when I woke up, I was all sweaty due to mummy not switching on the fan big enough, and with mozzie bites on my right upper arm and leftt elbow. Damn, I want to go back to camp!
Not.
Next year's OAC will be much slacker, I heard from someone. But I'd still rather not go. You want to know about my campy-camp? Pffffft, like, duhhhh!!
So first day I woke up at 5.30am, my usual time for normal school days, so that I can reach school by 6.30am to meet my instructors. But she wasn't there in time, in fact we only met her during the official time we were to report. Okaaay, first impression of the camp: Not good.
We had to surrender all our valuables, even our ez-link card, which I think I left with them...but there was nothing left...Anyway! When we reached the campsite it was nearing noon, so we had lunch there, which was surprisingly good :D Anyway, this is too long, I want to rebirth 10 times (something I swore to do on the first day of camp). Shall cut my long story short.
We did High elements the first day, which was bloody awesome (in camp we were allowed to use vulgarities, bloody isn't right? :D)! I was the first to try the station "A bridge too far", where we were to walk on the wires and there are only 2 short planks, but very far apart. I tell you, it is a heck of an experience! After High E. we had...Okay, I forgot ): I DIDN'T BRING MY CAMP PAPERS BACK! Damn me...
Anyway, on the first night was the pre-camp fire night performances. They were pretty awesome, nothing else but skit after skit. Fun eh? At least it was entertaining.
But all the fun was ruined when they said that we had to empty all the contents of our bags for a dorm check, personall by Miss Poon. Which was just a threat since it ended up with having the instructorrs ransacking our dorms. It was too bad but I was like, having the "dao face" (what Heather calls it). While they inspected our dorms, we were outside having an attire check. Let me tell you, it was nearring 12am, they were sooooo off schedule!
Anyway we ended sleeping half an hour off the supposed timing so they pushed back the schedule for the next day, I don't blame Instructor A., I blame the others! Hehe...
Next day we all woke up even before our alarms rang, I guess we're all like this. Like the morning of camp. On the second day we had abseiling (I ROCKED!!), zipline (again, I ROCKED!), initiative games and rock climbing. Every single one of them were really fun, but I have to say abseiling and zipline were the bestest :D I wanted to try ziplining again but I just couldn't stand having my group mates pushing the trolley any further...Abseiling I went about thrice! You guys know what abseiling is? It's like, you are slowing descending from the 4th storey (yeah, I went there) while attached to a rope, like, you slowly lower yourself. Boon was in my group (we were all split up) and she was shivering then due to her fever ): My poor Boon Hui...She didn't even try abseiling! But she did try zipline :D
On the same day, we had Low Elements, like climbing across the boulder (that boulder was one piece of art!), commando crawling across 2 parellel ropes, swinging from one log to a platform across (trust me, when you have 11 people standing on that log, and having to grab a rope 3m away, while not touching or dropping anything onto the ground, it's tough) and much more. We were sort of in a hurry, but I thought I heard the instructors saying we have a lot of time...
Anyway, we had some tests, on First aid and stuff.
Ooooh, I remembered something else we did on the first day :D OUTDOOR COOKING! We were supposed to cook pumpkin soup(yuck), sardine, brocolli and macaroni with spaghetti sauce. In the end, we added the pumpkin with the brocolli and added some sardine sauce in that dish XD It was pretty delicious! Ariel wanted to add the sardine sauce to the spaghetti sauce...She totally reminded me of my sister.
So back to second day :D After the tests, we walked to Labrador park, by then we were waaaaaaaaaaay behind schedule! Didn't manage to enjoy the orienteering game ): It seemed pretty fun but well, we only had half an hour left and that night was
CAMPFIRE NIGHT!!! Bravo was performing and I was already freaking out. We got back getting a scolding again from bloody Instructor C. (hint: IC of maintenance) due to us being an hour late for our showering time. Like that mattered since everyone was late. After that we had to rush through dinner to practice our opening cheer, not everyone was into it. The leaders were there by then, so we kept greeting/saluting and greeting/saluting. I didn't see J, although Boon did say she was the 1st overall IC :D
Campfire is one night were it's impossible to not get hyped up! I shall skip everything, because I want to keep the memory for myself (MUAAHHAH, but it
is mine!), so I shall skip to this morning where we had the stupid big sweep :D
5 people from bravo were to clean the canteen while the other 6 were to clean toilet 2, and both did a bad job (in the I.s' eyes.) Firstly, the toilet cleaning people did not clean up all the hair and what-tiny-nots properly, next the canteen cleaning people did not sweep the floor thoroughly, another scolding. Oh, how did they know we didn't sweep the floor thoroughly? They swept it to check, obviously. You know, if they bothered to check by sweeping, then why do we even have to sweep? Anyway, camp's overrrr, and know what?
Drumroll please!
..............(drumrolls!)
Bravo won the best campfire item,
second year in a row!
Bet Instructor Y. must be damned proud :D I kind of like her, she was quite nice, but after she scolded us I changed my mind. Instead, Instructor A. was nicer :D (Bravo has 2 Instructor A.s)
Camps overrr, you all missed me right? Hehehhe, yeaaah.
But I still vividly remember Sunday :D It was one of those amazing days that you will not forget (I didn't say never). We went to AFA08(Anime Fest Asia 08) and attended May'N's concert. I got myself a paperchase-rip-off from the book fest :D Hehehehe, it's really adorable. I got myself a file and a pencil case (it's buttoned :D It's mine, and I shall not show it to you!). Oh, Hong-hong went with us!
Naruto was there, and guess what? Hong Yee was sooooo attracted to him, Shermae too. So much that I had to stalk him with them. They wanted a picture with him (again, because on Saturday they went too. It was a two-day event) but didn't dare go up to ask. In the end I, the camera woman, had to ask for them. I really have
never seen Hong Yee so crazy for some bloke like this before. So I asked her what kind of guys she likes over dinner, and she was like uhhhh...
Still, when AFA08 ended, they continued stalking him, I mean he is damn cute! But I wouldn't go
there!
So, know what? Hong Yee and Mae wanted to give him their numbers but they didn't know how and they used me. Hong Yee gave her keychain to him, hah. It was really cute yet desperate XD But I have to say, if I were in their shoes I'd do that too XD But not the keychain part, because it was really cute.
Anyway, I miss home. I really learnt to appreciate things at home more, like the toilet bowl and the amazing plumbing system here as compared to the campsite's. Mummy's home, just in time because I suddenly felt like having tuna with toast.
